We are a pre-independence company and began our journey in real estate on 14th April 1937 when the Bombay Presidency became a province of British India. However, on 1st November 1956 Bombay State (currently divided into Maharashtra & Gujarat State) was reorganized absorbing various territories including the Saurashtra and Kutch States.
There was a massive real estate boom/expansion of the city and its suburbs after May 1, 1960, when the Bombay State was dissolved and split on linguistic lines into the two states of Gujarat with Gujarati speaking population, and Maharashtra with Marathi speaking population. The commercial district of Mumbai was Ballard Estate due to the expansion of the business the need rose to have an additional business district closest to Ballard Estate. In the late 1960s, Nariman Point (additional business district) and Cuffe Parade (additional residential) were reclaimed and developed.
The mentor (late) kumudchandra champsi chheda was popular amongst and hence started doing business in the name of K. C. Chheda & Co, During the reign of this company, we sold all types of real estate and also sold properties of foreign missionary trusts by issuing tenders. The properties were spread over the country which included Chennai, Kodaikanal, Jalgaon, Nashik, Mumbai, Akola, Akot, etc.
Trades, Manufacturing & business flourished and so did the real estate industry. Thereby Bombay Harbour needed to get de-congest and on 26th May 1989, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) was commissioned to handle India's containerized cargo. We leased/sold warehouses around JNPT. The geographical limits of Greater Bombay were coextensive with the municipal limits of Greater Bombay. On 1 October 1990, the Greater Bombay district was bifurcated to form two revenue districts namely, Bombay City and Bombay Suburban, during that time Jagdish Kumudchandra Chheda (son of Kumudchandra Champsi Chheda) decided to demerge the business into personal investment company (K C Chheda & Co) & real estate brokerage division (J K Chheda & Co). Here we sold bungalow plots by taking in the sole mandate for South India locations like Bengaluru (then known as Bangalore), Chennai (then known as Madras), Madurai, Hyderabad & Secunderabad.
On 8th July 2016, Manish Chheda, son of Jagdish Kumudchandra Chheda decided to form FORTIFY INTERNATIONAL (having a domain name estateoption.com) to deal in real estate with a concentration in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg forming (KONKAN DIVISION) and Goa ( North Goa & South Goa )
